Knitting for Psychos!!!

I present to you

    Knitting For Psychos!

Like the gent who thought it was a great use of time to dress up as all sorts of animals using household items, these crazy people knit.

And do they knit! These grannies are sick. Sick, twisted and hilarious.

Folks, the representations in these funny pics is what 70-80 years of being sweet and docile will do to you. I’ll be on the defensive next time I accidently forget the correct number of sugars to put in Granny’s hot tea. She may just come at me with an axe. Years of pent up anger…

Slack

Sorry.

No posts for ages. Been too busy to show this page any love.

Of course, there is always the BIG AD to keep yourself involved. I’ve been involving myself in this, and many other similarly worthy causes.

This is a great beer ad, in fact, one of my favourites. Filmed in New Zealand and… made from beer.

Melbourne2006

What was the story with the Opening Ceremony for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia yesterday? Those koalas were freaky and probably scared little kids!

There were hundreds of thousands of people beside the river and, as I understand it, pretty much all the accommodation in Melbourne is booked out by international travellers during the period of the Games.

Most of the spectators on the river left early because they were not aware that there was a further performance/demonstration following the ceremony in which the athletes entered the famous MCG. This meant those people missed the fireworks finale which, I may add, was spectacular!

See the reports here and here for coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

Melbourne 2006

The Commonwealth Games are about to begin in Melbourne next week.
I will be taking a keen interest in whether or not the Aussies can match there stellar performance at the Manchester Games in 2002, notwithstanding the selectors’ failure to include Boonie in any of the events.

A great loss for all spectators, across all disciplines. Boonie could have contributed so much, but will ultimately do so little. I’m sure he’ll crack a tinnie or two, though!

Torino 2006 Mascots

How lame are the mascots for the Winter Olympic Games this year? I’m no graphic designer or marketing guru, but these little guys don’t cut things for me.

Games mascots

This is what the guys at the official Torino 2006 website have to say about the mascots:

“She is a soft, friendly and elegant snowball. He is a lively and playful ice cube. The shapes of their bodies and the sounds of their names, Neve and Gliz remind us of the two vital elements for practising winter sports: snow and ice.

Together, they sum up the highest Italian and Olympic values: friendship and enthusiasm, loyalty and fun, design and the capacity to innovate.”

mmm. Interesting…

You can read all about them and their designer here.
